The role of information specialist in the process of Competitive Intelligence

Competitive Intelligence
Competitive Intelligence (CI) is an interdisciplinary field, where knowledge and skills from several areas are applied. Article shows opportunities and benefits which an information specialist can bring in the process. A person with specialized training in handling with information, have huge opportunity in the field of CI thanks to the skills and knowledge relating to information needs. Their correct identification is crucial to the success of CI. This article summarizes what an information specialist should know and what added value can he bring, how can contribute to the process of CI, not only with identifying key intelligence topics - KIT, but also in other steps such as collecting and distributing information.
