Studentské texty v Sacra stejně jako u jiných odborných časopisů prochází hodnocením redakce, odbornými posudky a korekturami. Poskytujeme tak studentům cenné zkušenosti s publikačním procesem, který je bude očekávat v zahraničních periodikách. Časopis je vydávaný od roku 2003 v nákladu dvou čísel ročně ve spolupráci s Ústavem religionistiky Filozofické fakulty Masarykovy university.</p> <p class="text">Hlavním cílem časopisu je poskytnout prostor pro publikování studií, rozhledů a odborných esejů, glos a komentářů, polemik, rozhovorů, recenzí i zpráv studentům magisterského, doktorského, ale i bakalářského studia z oblasti akademického studia náboženství. In this paper, I aim to compare the different perspectives on the Balkans. The first perspective is that of an Austro-Hungarian physician who lived there during the Austro-Hungarian mandate. Others are of the Ottoman travelers who crossed the Balkans in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. I analyze excerpts from an article written by the physician in Bosnia alongside Ottoman travelogues dealt with in the book From Istanbul to the End of the World. I aim to highlight both similarities and differences in their views, as well as set them into the wider context of the historical era. I argue this approach sheds light on the variety of perceptions of the Balkans prevalent during the late 19th and early 20th century. Moreover, it can spark a discussion about orientalist discourse and its forms, which in some ways remain to this day.

This case study explores the intersection of chronic pain, religious identity, and queerness through the experience of Oskar, a young man raised in a devout Roman Catholic context. It examines how the normative pressures of Catholicism and Western biomedicine shaped Oskar's understanding of his body and sexuality. The study highlights the limitations of Cartesian dualism in explaining chronic pain and anxiety, particularly focusing on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and health anxiety. By analysing Oskar's journey from catholic upbringing to coming out, the case study demonstrates how sociocultural factors influence the perception and expression of pain. The case underscores the need for a more holistic approach to health that considers the interconnectedness of mind, body, and social-cultural context, challenging the reductionist tendencies of both religious and biomedical discourse.

This essay seeks to analyze the actions of neo-Pentecostal groups associated with drug traffickers, such as the so-called "Bonde de Jesus", in Duque de Caxias, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). We also deepen their relations with Christianity, religious racism, and the destruction of Umbanda and Candomblé terreiros, as well as the aggression of religious leaders and the repression against members of these religions. We adopt a qualitative analysis of the descriptive nature of materials available online and in other media. In sequence, we reflect on the racist origin of these practices of religious intolerance and on the work of resistance enacted by the adepts of the terreiros, despite the numerous violations of their rights, conquered through a struggle waged for centuries.

The essay analyses the symbol of death in the film The Seventh Seal (1957). The text describes the author's approach against the background of understanding the concept of death in his film. It also focuses on death as both an inevitable act and a character in the story. The aim is to bring together different perspectives on death contained in the film and reveal their meaning.
