Author Guidelines
General conditions for accepting contributions
Slavica litteraria is a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Therefore, all contributions published must meet the relevant professional and formal criteria. Slavica litteraria welcomes contributions concerning all the aforementioned fields of research. Based on the independent reviews, the Editorial Board of Slavica litteraria makes decisions on publication and scheduling. The editor always timely informs the authors about the reviewers’ assessments. Contributions are allowed to be in Slavonic languages, English or German. The contributions must be in .doc or .rtf format.
License terms
By submitting a work to the Slavica litteraria for the consideration for publication, the author grants the Masaryk University a license to the work, under the following conditions – for more details, see section About journal.
Formal adjustment
The contributions should not exceed 20 pages typed (1,800 characters per page, including footnotes), materials and discussions 15 pages, reviews should have 3 –6 pages and reports 3–4 pages. Contributions should be accompanied by abstract and key words in the source language (or Czech) and English with the maximum length of 1 page.
For all foreign language contributions, the journal requires proof-reading provided by a native speaker with the proper erudition. The journal’s formal criteria must be accepted and retained, the author can be asked for the formal adjustment of the submission. The journal reserves the privilege to do any language or formal emendations of all texts (though, the particular changes have to be approved by the author).
Formal requirements
Line spacing: 1
Font size: 12 pts.
Font: Times New Roman; if any other special fonts are used, they have to be included in the submission.
Figures and supplements: ideally in separate files.
Citations: in the footnotes (Cyrillic alphabet must be transliterated into the Latin alphabet), form: see Works cited.
Title and author’s affiliation: title in the language of the submission and in English, complete name, address, and contact information (e-mail). Author’s affiliation should be written in Latin alphabet (not Cyrillic).
Abstract and summary: each submission must include an abstract and key words in the source language (or in Czech) and English at the beginning of it.
Footnotes and tables / charts: only generated automatically.
Quotations, titles of literary works (not periodicals): in Italics.
Works cited: should be traceable at the end (Bibliography) in the following form (examples):
Monograph and edition of original texts:
WOLLMAN, Frank: Slovesnost Slovanů. Brno: Tribun, 2012, s. 13–15.
Chapter in the book /proceedings:
WOLLMAN, Slavomír: Slavistika. In: NOVÁK, Petr: Z dějin slavistiky. Praha: Academia, 2011, s. 1–20.

Authors should use Ibidem to provide footnote citation or reference for a source that was cited in the preceding footnote. It is required that authors distinguish between dash and hyphen. Dash (on keyboard: –) is used with pages, dates, authors, etc., without interword spacing. Hyphen (on keyboard: -) is to be used in accordance with practice in the source language.
