Abstract
The author of the present article deals with new methodological and didactic conception of Slavonic studies, especially with its area structure, and the role of the so-called synthetic discplines and subjects which – in the case of Brno Slavonic studies – are represented by theory of area studies, philological-area studies, comparative literary studies, comparative study of Slavonic literatures, world literature for slavists; they form certain links of the Slavonic studies conceived in a modern and global way.
