Abstract
Lukov, an important royal castle established by Margrave Vladislav Jindřich in the early 14th century, went through a number of stages of development in the course of its long existence. At the end of the 13th century it was acquired as a pledge by the lords of Šternberk, who subsequently became its owners. The Šternberks sold the castle to the lords of Kunštát in 1512. In 1547 the castle was purchased by the Nekešes of Landek and in the early 17th century by the lords of Víckov. The Minkvices of Minkvice (Minkwitz) were the last noble family to inhabit the castle, in 1631–1710. The castle was finally abandoned at the end of the 18th century. The study analyses a group of tiles assembled by members of the Friends of Lukov Castle Association during reconstruction work in the castle complex. With few exceptions, the material is relatively recent, dating from the late renaissance and early baroque periods. In several cases it is related to products manufactured by the southern Moravian Anabaptists. In terms of typology, the series is varied and its main iconographic contribution is heraldic.
