Information on Processing and Protection of Personal data
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR), Masaryk University (hereinafter referred to as "MU") informs about the circumstances under which personal data are processed, which are provided by the subjects - authors and co-authors of texts - via the web form https://journals.phil.muni.cz/erb in connection with participation in the creation of the content of the peer-reviewed periodical Études romanes de Brno.

Purpose of personal data processing
MU processes personal data for the purpose of receiving and publishing manuscripts of articles and other texts and works in the peer-reviewed periodical Études romanes de Brno.
Any personal data received by the editorial team of the peer-reviewed journal Études romanes de Brno is used only for purposes related to the processing and eventual publication of manuscripts
Basic principles for the processing of personal data
When processing personal data, MU complies with all the principles for processing personal data under the General Regulation. Only the editorial team of Études romanes de Brno and the editorial office of the publisher MU Press have access to personal data. The principles and rules for processing personal data at MU are regulated by MU Directive No. č. 1/2018 „Protection and Processing of Personal Data“.
Categories of persons whose personal data are rocessed
Masaryk University processes personal data of authors and co-authors of texts sent to the editorial team of the journal Études romanes de Brno.
Categories of personal data processed
Masaryk University collects and uses personal data necessary for the processing and publication of submitted author and co-author texts in the preparation and creation of the content of the peer-reviewed journal Études romanes de Brno. This data may include names, affiliations and contact details, including email contacts and postal addresses.
If the submitted material is accepted for publication, the names of the authors, their institutional affiliations and the correspondence and e-mail addresses of the corresponding authors are published on the website https://journals.phil.muni.cz/erb.
Legal basis for processing personal data
The legal title of the processing of personal data is the processing necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is a party as stipulated in Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, namely a licence agreement (concluded between authors/co-authors of submited texts and Masaryk University).
Transfer of personal data
The personal data controller does not transfer processed personal data to third parties, abroad or to international organizations.
Masaryk University does not disclose, distribute or sell personal data to third parties unless it is required to do so by law or unless the data subject provides prior consent.
Time period for the retention of personal data
Personal data are kept for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data are processed.
Rights of the data subject
The data subject has the right under the General Data Protection Regulation
- to request access to his or her personal data
- to request the correction or erasure of personal data under the conditions laid down in Article 17of the GDPR.
- to request the restriction of the processing of personal data under the conditions laid down in Article 18
Exercise of the data subject's rights
