The article discusses the motive of tram as a key to Russian literature of the twentieth century. The tram is part of the urban landscape, but at the same time in Russian culture it gradually became the symbol of the new era, it acquired of the tragic connotations, associated with death and began to have a fatal significance. In the article we focused on the texts with this concept and tried to define its specificity.
