Human and artistic message of Viktor Astafjev

Abstract
The study reflects on a contemporary Russian writer, Victor Astafyev, whose prose has not only been an important constituent part o f Russian literatuře, but also has retained to this day its artistic power. Astafyev's works typically employ a lyrical approach. The study deals with genological issues and specific methods in the prosaic work of Victor Astafyev. This is best seen in his books of prose The Last Tribute (1957-1977), Shepherd and Shepherdess. A Modem Pastorál (1967-1974) and Czar-Fish (1972-1975). The writing activities o f Viktor Astafjev have always represented and always will represent an extraordinary phenomenon especially in the literary processes of the 60's-90's of the 20th century. He was an author whose work is not only dormant present in the development of the Russian literatuře as a whole, but it has also played, in a certain sense, an active role in the complex development of the society.
