The author of the contribution deals - on the occasion of the approaching 10th anniversary of the takeover in the Czech Committee of Slavists in 2003 as a starting point of the institutional crisis in international Slavonic studies - with the International Committee of Slavists and with the forms and methods of its activity. He presents a set of proposals to bring a necessary change concerning the special commissions, the participation of young researchers, the systém of management etc.
