This study deals with the history of the Olomouc Amateur Photography Club in terms of the phenomenon of the amateur home photography movement as a whole. By using the example of Olomouc, which is unique in both its long, diverse history and excellently preserved archive, the study attempts to document the primary activities of the amateur photographic movement and the problems that it faced over the course of the complex history of the first half of the 20th century. The study is based on archive materials of the Olomouc club, the estate of its long-term chairman Josef Kšír, and various regional and national printed materials.
