Erbovní galerie v sídlech české šlechty v raném novověku a jejich osudy s důrazem na heraldické soubory s vícevrstvými genealogickými koncepty

Roč.68,č.2(2019)

Abstrakt
The article maps the spread of the use of more extensive heraldic ornamentation in the newly built or renovated residences of the Czech aristocracy in Zvíkov, Horšovský Týn, Telč, Český Krumlov, and Třebon during the second half of the 16th century. Based on a study of sources in southwest Bohemia, the article also explores how several generations of the lesser aristocracy seized on this stately decorative programme and applied it in rural residences in Roupov, Srbice (in the district of Domažlice), and Hrádek near Sušice. What is remarkable is that even when the residences acquired new owners, the heraldic decorations were never covered up during structural renovations but rather served as the basis from which the new owner developed the heraldic decorations in other rooms.
