Vídeňský architekt Robert Raschka a jeho soutěžní projekty

This article looks at the projects that Viennese architect Robert Raschka (1847–1908) created to take part in various architectural competitions (e.g. for Frucht- und Mehlbörse in Vienna, the North-Bohemian Museum of Applied Arts in Liberec, and the German Casino in Prague) and compares them to the competing projects in the same competitions. It provides a brief outline of his life, realized structures, and reminds readers that he was a painter as well as an architect. The study is based on an analysis of contemporary periodicals and secondary sources, while the main source of information is the competition designs themselves, which were published in contemporary magazines (Der Architekt, Allgemeine Bauzeitung). This is the first more comprehensive study of the work of this architect, which is primarily known in Moravia as one of the two architects (together with Anton Hefft) who designed the Moravian Provincial Assembly in Brno (Moravská zemská sněmovna).
