The paper studies Slovak-Belorussian language and cultural relations on the basis of linguistic writings of S. Cambel and J. F. Karski. By employing contrastive analysis of the selected publications it identifies some parallel and different phenomena in the development of Slovak and Belorussian languages and points out in common features in the biographies of linguists and national languages. The author characterizes similar, parallel facts and the diferencees in the history of the Slovak and Belorussian linguistics.
