The article deals with four scientific opinions about ethnogenesis of the Slavs beginning the 6th century. The interpretation of the existence of the Slavs is focused to explanation of their arrival and expansion in Europe through theses of geographic area, linguistics and language, ceramics and material culture, material documents and anthropology. None of these approaches do not offer comprehensive interpretation from where did they come and who shaped them within the continent.
