Brakes of the passive

Vol.22,No.Supplementum(2012)

Abstract
The study analyzes restrictions for the analytical passive in Czech. It shows that conceptions which have only derivation rules at their disposal overgenerate, and it looks for a solution of this problem in distinguishing different light v° (in the style of H. Harley). The brakes of the passive can thus be analyzed syntactically despite being intuitively perceived as semantic restrictions.
