The role of self-study books in language teaching

Abstract
The topic of this study is to compare self-study books with those language course books which are more effective under the guidance of a teacher. The main characteristic of self-study books is that they are written in the particular foreign language and explain grammar accordingly. They aim to facilitate home studying without the guidance of a teacher. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the structure of the course books in order to find a way to assimilate self-study books into the process of organized language teaching.
