Abstract

The article examines the metamorphosis of eros in various episodes and situations of the plot in which the hero of the novel and the female characters that have fallen into his orbit act and manifest themselves. The role of eros in the system of events and in self-reflection and reflection of Pechorin is studied, revealing his attitude to current events. Female characters, as shown in the article, serve as personifications of various guises of eros. Metamorphosis of eros allow it, as the author notes, to take the form of sensual attraction, erotic obsession or erotic play, finally, understanding love that transforms it. The article reveals the influence of eros on the course of stories told. Eros also leaves its mark on the fate of Pechorin, with all its unpredictable twists and turns. All this determines, according to the author's conclusions, a special place that various forms of eros and eros as such in the semantic space of the "The Hero of Our Time" occupy.
