Neoromanticism of Lesya Ukrainka's prose as the reinterpretation of the tradition of realism

Abstract
The article studies the process of changing of the style tendencies in Lesya Ukrainka's prose. The titles of the short stories, and the inner focus of the short stories and prose of the early period of Lesya Ukrainka's artwork at the beginning of the 20th century are analysed. The features of impressionism on the basis of realism in the analysed short stories are identified. The conclusion about the new way of describing reality in the short stories by Lesya Ukrainka is made: her prose is concentrated on the inner world of the character, and evolves away from the simplified determinism.
