Russian national Character "into the very depths" : (analysis of the N. S. Leskov's story "Paddock"). Part 1

Abstract
This article analyzes the features of perception and reflection of the Russian national character in the works of Nikolaj Leskov. The author the most completely considers the story, "Paddock", which is reflected in a concentrated form of Russian society in all its diversity manifestations, with many details. In the first part of the article in detail it is discussed the first chapter of this story.
