Zakhar Prilepin: "There is no night"

Abstract
The creative identity of the leader of "new realists" Zakhar Prilepin is investigated in the article. In the center of attention there are the specifics of the image of the Russian world and national character in the novel "Monastery". The creative manner of Prilepin is characterized by the presence of a new type of the hero, the special narrative manner and the refusing from irony and sarcasm. First of all, "Monastery" is art research of the Russian person's essence, which is static and which is shown during crisis historical eras. This essence comes to light in the specifics of the world's development, in the attitude towards surrounding reality.
