About the Journal
Focus and mission
ProInflow is a peer-reviewed, open access, scientific journal focused on information science. The journal aims to promote research and professional activities in the field with an emphasis on quality and free access to the results of these activities.
The journal publishes primarily the results of scientific research and original review articles in the transdisciplinary areas of information science. Topics cover various areas of information science with overlaps into disciplines such as librarianship, archiving, museology, information systems, information technology, digital humanities, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, psychology, sociology, cybernetics, ethics, philosophy, and others. ProInflow serves as a tool for scientific communication not only for experts from the Czech Republic and Slovakia but also seeks wider international cooperation, and therefore we welcome articles in English as well. In line with the idea of Open Access (Diamond Open Access model), readers have unrestricted access to the full texts of individual articles.
The journal was founded in 2009 at the Cabinet of Information Studies and Librarianship of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno. Since 2011 it has been indexed by the international database EBSCO, since June 2015 by the ERIH database.
Schedule
Papers can be submitted throughout the year. The journal is published twice a year in electronic version, articles are published in Czech, Slovak, and English. The spring issue is published on 31 April of the year, the autumn issue on 31 October of the year.
Digital access and archiving
The full texts of the articles are made available in the OJS editorial system in the Diamond Open Access model via the Digital Library of the Faculty of Arts of MU. The Digital Library is the primary source and repository of scholarly works of the Faculty of Arts MU and allows access to older and current scholarly publications in digitised form. Currently, it provides access mainly to professional journals and periodicals of the Faculty of Arts of MU from their first years of publication, thus ensuring quality metadata processing and long-term archiving and protection of these journals.

License Terms
By submitting an article (hereinafter referred to as "Work") to ProInflow (https://journals.muni.cz/proinflow) (hereinafter referred to as "Journal") for consideration for publication, the author grants Masaryk University (hereinafter referred to as "MUNI") a license to the Work under the terms and conditions set forth below:
1. Author's declaration
1.1 The author declares that the Work is free from copyright or other legal defects, has not been published anywhere or offered for publication elsewhere, except on standard scientific pre-publication communication platforms (e.g. SSRN, ResearchGate, Academia).
1.2 The author declares that he is the real author or co-author of the Work and his freedom to grant a license is not limited or excluded in any way, i.e. the author is entitled to dispose of the Work, in particular:
- the Work is not subject to the employee work regime, where the employee is not entitled to exercise rights in the Work,
- the use of the Work within the scope of the license granted is not limited by the terms of the grant or other financial support provided (e.g. GAČR, TAČR),
- the use of the Work within the scope of the license granted is not restricted by the rights of third parties (e.g. copyright, data protection law); and
- the Work is not a co-authored work where the other co-authors would not agree to the granting of a license.
1.3 In the case of a co-authored Work, the author represents that he/she has informed the other co-authors of these license terms and that he/she is authorized to grant a license on their behalf to MUNI under these license terms.
1.4 The Author agrees that, in the event of acceptance of the Work for publication, a proposal for a license agreement for the Work will be made on his/her behalf to an unspecified number of persons, with the content of the agreement to be determined by reference to the publicly available Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 International license terms (available from https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0); no such proposal for a license agreement will be made for works or elements (e.g. visual or photographic documentation) used in the Work by the Author under a contractual license with a third party.
1.5 In the event that any of the author's statements prove to be false, the author is aware that he/she is liable for any damages incurred, including the costs of any litigation and any damages resulting from the infringement of the reputation of the Journal or MUNI.
2. Grant of license
2.1 The Author grants to MUNI a non-exclusive and non-exclusive license to use the Work in all known ways (in particular, to reproduce, distribute and communicate the Work to the public), alone, in a set or in conjunction with any other work or elements, regardless of form or method of expression (including electronic form).
2.2 The license is granted as unlimited in territory and quantity.
2.3 The license is granted free of charge.
2.4 The license is granted for the duration of the proprietary rights in the Work.
2.5 MUNI may grant the authorizations forming part of the license to a third party or parties, wholly or partly on the basis of a sub-license agreement, for a fee or free of charge.
2.6 By granting the license, the author agrees to the inclusion of the Work in scientific and bibliographic databases (e.g. EBSCO, CEEOL), as well as in information systems for the provision of information services in which the Journal is currently maintained, as well as those in which it will be included in the future.
2.7 MUNI is not obliged to use the granted license.
3. Further use of the Work
3.1 In view of the non-exclusive and non-exclusive license granted to the Work, the author is entitled to make further use of the Work. However, for the purposes of such further use, the author undertakes to acknowledge the Magazine as the source of publication of the Work.
3.2 In the event that the Work is made available on standard scientific pre-publication communication platforms within the meaning of Article 1.1, the author undertakes to additionally acknowledge the Journal as the source of publication of the Work without undue delay.
3.3 Further use of the Work must not adversely affect the reputation of MUNI or the Journal.
4. Other
4.1 Legal relations arising under the license shall be governed by the laws of the Czech Republic; any disputes arising in connection with the license shall be decided by the courts of the Czech Republic.
4.2 In the event that the Work is rejected for publication in the Journal, the license granted at the time of such rejection shall be limited to the extent necessary for the use of the Work in related editorial activities (e.g., peer review and archiving).
