Good decisions are based on the actionable intelligence. The goal of Competitive Intelligence (CI) is to retrieve, analyze and exploit information in order to support decision-making process. The first part of the paper defines CI and its importance for competitiveness of the organization. The second part describes main differences between CI and Business Intelligence. Third part describes main trends on the CI field. Next part shows possible CI contribution for Knowledge Management. The last part is a discussion about the CI importance for strategic decision-making and for the competitiveness.
