New issue Slavica litteraria 2018, Number 2

22.01.2019

The present number of the journal focuses both on general theoretical and poetological problems and on genre and motif studies; all the contributions has a comparative character which is typical of this journal where you can find a study on imagology, a comparative text of a Polish specialist in Russian studies dealing with the motif of the window and the mirror in the works of Zinaida Hippius and Marina Tsvetaeva, with the genre of the ballad as a prototext of a film adaptation; the present number also contains a study by a Slovak historian of literature about Jiří Mahen’s drama Janošík in the Czech-Slovak context, an analysis of one of Boris Pasternak’s poems, a comparison of Slovak and Italian industrialized literature as well as a reflection of E. M. Forster’s opinion of the Russian novel. In the section called Materials and Discussions there are quite attractive concise commentaries upon literary criticism by literary critics from Novi Sad and upon the work of Bruno Schulz, the traditional section of jubilees and obituaries deals with Viera Gašparíková’s jubilee and with the poet and translator Juraj Andričík. In the section of reviews and reports the major subject is represented by Central Europe starting from the reviews of M. C. Putna’s book, of the book on Slavonic modernizations, of a new Roman Jakobson edition up to the report on the history of Central-European universities etc. The closing article deals with the meeting on the occasion of the already mentioned Viera Gašparíková’s jubilee.
