The study evaluates the closure of an ambitious research project (publishing of an extensive folk tale collection of the interwar and postwar Slovakia), whose theoretical and practical initiator was prof. Frank Wollman. On the basis of the papers from the conference proceedings Slavista Frank Wollman v kontexte literatúry a folklóru (The Slavist Frank Wollman in the Context of Literature and Folklore) the autor attempts to answer the question - how Wollman's scholarly activities are reflected in the present-day folklore, comparative and Slavonic Studies.
