Eques polonus – hledání vzoru

Vol.11,No.2(2008)

Abstract
The Polish epic literature of 16th and 17th century offers an example which is appropriate for tradicionalist arristocracy. The Polish society is, in contrast to West Europe where traditional knightly patterns have been abadoned for a long time, focused on revitalisation of the old ideal of Christ's knights as the consequence of the strategic position in former East Europe, geopolitical interests and the articifial myth representing medieval Poland as the Christian fort against Ottoman's impact; this myth is supported by the ancient narrative form.
