Próba hermeneutycznej interpretacji obrazu Otokara Kubína "Zátiší"

Vol.12,No.1(2009)

Abstract
The article tries to interpret an excellent painting entitled Zatisi ("still life") by a Czech-French origin painter Otokar Kubin in 1922, just at the moment when the contemporary art movement (avant-garde) started all over the world. Marek Bernacki, reading the vanitative and moralistic idea of the picture in the context of Zbigniew Herbert's essay Martwa natura z wędzidłem (1993) and Czesław Miłosz's poetical book Kroniki (1988), also discuses a deeper and a very important problem concerning modern art in Europe which, as it seems, has definitely lost its sacral meaning and eschatological point of view.
