Ukraina i "peryferyjny" kontekst środkowoeuropejskiej Polski

Vol.17,No.2(2014)

Abstract
The author takes up a polemics with a famous Polish historian, Anthony Podraza with reference to problems connected with his concept of three huge divisions of Europe of modern times. This especially refers to Podraza's negation of the concept of existence of Ukraine within the region referred to as Middle-Eastern Europe (The Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia). Podraza rates Ukraine among Eastern Europe, highlighting cultural differences as the main reason for this. The polemics will be based on outcomes of author's cultural research with reference to literature and economic and political issues. In this respect, it remains vital to mention the relations between Poland, Ukraine and Russia as well as the poets and writers representing these countries: Jan Kochanowski, Symeon Polotsky, Adam Mickiewicz, Alexander Pushkin, Lev Tolstoy.
