Abstract
The literature of the first half of the 1950s differs from the one of the second half. The prose of the first half of the 1950s is of a normative character which is improved on by the prose of the second half. Such is the situation in home production, while stimulating exile works appear in the first half of that decade. A particular position of children's and teenage literature. Compositional principles and methods in Czech prose of that period. Comparison with Polish prose of the 1950s.
