Abstract

Many women writers entered postwar Polish literature. The author focuses on four of them, each representing a different literary type. In one prose writer the language of expression is Polish. Natalia Rolleczek is a prose writer with a sense of humour. Anna Langfus, originally named Anna Regina Szternfinkiel, lived through her Jewish ordeal during the war, then moved to France after the war, where she became a French writer. Sidonia Rup is also of Jewish origin, and her poetry contains themes related to the prose of the Frenchified Anna Langfus. In contrast, Hanna Malewska is an author of historical novels which are thematically inspired by the Middle Ages and draw on the Roman and French past.
