The paper presents the results of the word formation analysis of common characters' names used in Polish version of the collectible card game "Hearthstone". Among the analyzed expressions we paid close attention to the formative structure of words by isolating one-word names (eg. Wyżer ← Hogger) and female names (Kapłanka Eluny ← Eluny Priestess). In the following part, we took into account the semantic aspect of the cards' terms. We noticed that the names suggest medieval times (Czarny Rycerz ← The Black Knight) and sea robbers (eg. Straszliwy Korsarz ← Dread Corsair), as well as those associated with an unparalleled knowledge (Wiedziciel Cho ← Lorewalker Cho). The attention was also drawn to archaic terms and formed neologisms. In the annex we added a table that contains the created names.
