Englische Komposita, Phraseologismen und Wortgruppen im Deutschen

Bd.15,Nr.1(2010)

Abstract
English compounds, idioms and word groups in German With the growing number of anglicisms in the German press the efforts to draw a clear line between English compounds and "mere" word groups is becoming a current issue for Germanists. As there are no such strict rules concerning orthography and the main stress in English compounds as in the German language, it is often difficult to say whether it is a compound or a word group. This article is trying to chart the most frequent problems dealing with this issue and to define the individual aspects of language.
