Die Finanzkrise in Metaphern zur Funktion der Metapher in Wirtschaftstexten

Vol.15,No.1(2010)

Abstract
Emotions are a complex of phenomenons, which belong to a human beeing, to his perception and reflexion of his own environment. Human emotions are generally expressed by the transfer of meaning of a word, especially metaphorically. Metaphors have been considered not only as a "language ornament", but as well as a special mean, which enables us how to express everything what's difficult to say appropriately. The German economic weekly newspaper Euro.de and it's Czech version Euro.cz (both in a period of January 2009) have been chosen for the language analysis. The name itself "crisis" is emotionalized and all the metaphoric means of language emphasize its intensity even more. Metaphors can be found also in the economic texts, thanks to their creativity and ability to name the things truthfully. The most frequent areas of the metaphorical expressions include topics as a weather/elements, parts of a human body and a war. Result of the analysis brings surprising results: this phenomenon is not felt just in a negative way, which we could expect. The truth is, that the positive responses are in a minority, comparing to those negative ones, but as we can see, the undesirable phenomenon as a financial crisis has its two faces.
