The treatment explores the actual witnessing status of the narrative perspective in the cases, which employ aorist, imperfect and renarrative mood, in the aspect of the pragmatic linguistic reference points. Attention is drawn to the potential incongruities between the factual witnessing, or un-witnessing, presence of the narrative speaker and the semantic/notional interpretation of the grammatical forms of her/his expression of his/or communicator. The possible reasons for these misfits are presented, a methodology for explaining the nature of the imperfect, the aorist and the more atypical communicative transformations of the renarrative mood is recommended.
