Sacra publishes academic articles, commentaries and essays, discussions, short essays and comments, interviews, reports and reviews relevant for the Study of Religions. Academic articles, commentaries and essays, and discussion sent to the editorial board undergo anonymous peer-review, usually by one reviewer.
The main criteria for publishing are:
a) relevancy of the proposed text to the study of religions, b) scientific contribution, c) theoretical relevance d) explicit methodology, e) appropriate language quality of the text.

Editorial Board accepts texts for sections:
Texts undergoing anonymous peer-review:
- Articles: academic texts based on author's field research or theoretical/methodological study in a range of 15–25 standard pages (27000–45000 characters with spaces), including notes, bibliography, abstract (600–900 characters with spaces) and keywords.
- Commentaries and Essays: short academic texts on a partial problem, critical discussions, theoretical/methodological or thematic overviews in the range of 5–15 standard pages (9000–27000 characters with spaces), including notes, bibliography, abstract (600–900 characters with spaces) and keywords.
Texts without anonymous peer-review:
- Short Essays and Comments: texts of more subjective and popularizing character, reflections of university studies and research experiences in the range of up to 15 standard pages (27000 characters with spaces), including bibliography; they do not contain English abstract and keywords.
- Interviews: structured conversations with personalities of Czech and world academic field of the study of religion in the range of up to 10 standard pages (18000 characters with spaces).
- Reports: texts reporting important events in the field of religious studies, organization of conferences, and foreign trips; in the range of up to 5 standard pages, including bibliography (9000 characters with spaces).
- Reviews: texts critically reflecting relevant literature from religious studies, in the range of up to 5 standard pages (9000 characters with spaces).
Guidelines for Authors:
Authors interested in publishing in Sacra can send their text (along with a contact, e. g. e-mail) to the e-mail (casopissacra@gmail.com) or to the address of the journal or give it to a member of the editorial board.
Follow these steps to format your text for publication:
- Text: font Times New Roman, size 12, spacing 1,5.
- Headings: bold text, without formatting, size 12.
- Footnotes: font Times New Roman, size 10, spacing 1.
- Tables, graphs, and figures provide numbered in a separate appendix.
