About the Journal

Aims & Scope

Studia Paedagogica is a peer reviewed journal published by Masaryk University. The executive editors are members of the staff of the Department of Educational Sciences and the editorial board comprises of international experts. 

Studia Paedagogica publishes studies on education, upbringing, and learning from various spheres of social life. The journal is interdisciplinary, covering current topics in educational research while also providing scope for studies focused on education grounded in other social sciences. The studies primarily comprise empirical research. The journal also accepts high-quality theoretical and review studies. The journal accepts only original research papers and welcomes submissions from both experienced academics and emerging scholars. Emerging researchers can publish their papers in the "Emerging Researchers" section of the journal, where they are offered intensive editorial support.

The journal publishes three issues per year. Starting from 2024, the journal is exclusively published online. Two issues in English are special (see Call for Authors). One issue is in the Czech and Slovak languages and is dedicated to general interest studies (studies are published in Online First mode).

In 2009–2023 the journal was published in print form with ISSN 1803-7437.

Partner in Publishing

Studia Paedagogica is European Educational Research Association (EERA) Emerging Researchers’ Group’s partner in publishing. The EERA Emerging Researchers’ Group mediates offers of high-quality papers given at ECER Emerging Researchers’ Conferences for publication. The journal Studia Paedagogica provides space for two articles a year as recommended for publication by the EERA Emerging Researchers’ Group. The articles recommended will be subject to standard double blind peer review.

Abstracting & Indexing

Studia Paedagogica is indexed in the SCOPUS database. Furthermore, the journal is indexed in international databases DOAJ, ERA, ERIH PLUS, EBSCO, CEJSH, JournalSeek, NewJour, PKP, ProQuest, and Ulrich's Periodicals Directory.

Open Access

This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

Authors retain the copyright for all the materials published in the journal.

The author grants MUNI gratuitous non-exclusive license to use the Work in all the known manners of use (especially, but not limited to, reproduction, distribution and communication to public), individually, in the collection or together with any other works or elements unlimited as regards to amount and form and media of expression (including electronic).

MUNI shall be entitled to grant an authorisation forming part of the license to the third party or parties, in whole or in part under a sublicense agreement, with or without remuneration. By granting the license, the author agrees with including the Work into the scientific and bibliographical databases (eg. EBSCO, CEEOL) as well as information systems for providing the informational services, where the Journal is currently indexed as well as those, where it will be indexed pro futuro. MUNI shall be not obliged to make use of the license.
